I for one heard from my tution students that the IT college they are studying is profiting from getting these foreign students. The course counsellors will register these student for some 'extra' fees but these students never attend class. This has been going on for about 2 years now. Hope the media will bring more attention and expose the local colleges doing this.

We have enough illegal foreign people here in Malaysia!

Save money, cycle to work

China Post
Employees in Malaysia urged to cycle to work, save fuel

Government employees in a Malaysian state are being urged to leave their cars at home and cycle to work in order to save fuel, following a nationwide hike in retail gasoline prices.

Shahidan Kassim, chief minister of northern Perlis state, said Friday it might seem odd to see civil servants, especially senior department staff, pedaling their way to the office — but they would become accustomed to it if it becomes a daily routine

medium_bike2work.jpg Good idea! Too bad I'll get killed if I tried to cycle to work in KL.

Also good to see the huge publicity Ong Ka Ting got just using the public transport. See, even big shots use the LRT. It's great PR for the Use Public Transport push.

Will we see more Ministers follow cue and have more PR stunts encouraging people to give up driving and take busses or cycle to work instead??

I hope so. At least it'll keep us amused for a little while - just long enough to take our minds off the escalating shit that we are going to plough into.

Another Sardine Day

I arrived at the Sentral Monorail earlier than usual at 7:45am but it was packed liked sardines - more than usual. Is it a case of more motorist opting for public transport because of the 30 sen petrol hike ??

Have to arrive earlier tomorrow morning I guess.
